This afternoon, Rachel, Trey and I were loading up the car to take some things to my newfound favorite consignment store, when Trey had a little mishap. Okay, before you read any farther – this is very sad, but the things that Trey said are very funny.

Last night for supper, I decided to fix one of Trey’s favorites – taco soup. :) I think he probably just likes t because he gets to put cheese and chips on it – and it still counts as supper! He had two big bowls, and just as he was finishing, he looked across the table and said, “Mommy, I love you!”

We all smiled as I told him that I loved him so much too. He looked at Wes and said, “I like my Mommy.” Then he added, “And I like that Addy!” :)

Earlier this evening, I was in Addison’s bedroom, changing her diaper while Wes was helping Trey in the bathroom. I kept hearing Trey say, “Mommy tean it! Mommy, tean it!” Wow, I thought proudly – What a sweet little guy, telling his Daddy about my nice clean bathroom!

Earlier this afternoon, I was working on something in our bedroom, when Trey came running to me with the jar of peanut butter and a spoon. ;) He asked, “Mommy I eat some peanut butt-ow peeze?” I shook my head, but had to laugh, as I said, “Sure, I guess you can eat some peanut butter.” (more…)

I just did something (I think for the first time) that I’ve always said I would never do when I had kids. Wes and I have been trying to come up with a way to help Trey want to sleep in his own bed. We finally decided to get a nightlight for his room – make a special trip to the store with him to buy his special light, then have a big to-do about him being a big boy and getting to sleep in his big boy bed all by himself! :)

Well, Addy has been one for almost a month now, and while we’re still trying to be careful about sugar, we have caught ourselves making more frequent exceptions lately. ;) A couple of days ago, Trey was having a little bowl of ice-cream, when Addy spotted him and decided that he should share.

Trey has recently been picking up on things that Wes and I say, and repeating them. I’ve been thinking a lot about that song, “Oh be careful little mouth what you say…” ;) Well, one of the things that he’s especially been noticing, is the different names that we use for people. If he hears me call someone something, he just assumes that’s their name… or one of their names. :) (more…)

Earlier this evening, I was laying on the couch with Trey while he watched a video before bed. I could tell he was getting sleepy because he asked if he could “day on Mommy’s be-y”. :) This is, for some reason, comforting to him…must be that it’s cushion-y. ;) But he’s done it since I was first expecting Addison. Earlier this afternoon, I was coloring with Trey while Addy napped. I would draw a picture with a marker, and he would find the same color piece of chalk, and color the picture (not sure why, but he loves to color with chalk. :) ). (more…)
