Last night, Trey and I were watching a movie together, when we decided we were hungry. :) I went in the kitchen to pour a bowl of cereal for the two of us to share. I thought it would be fun…but probably mainly did it with the motive of saving on messes. :)
Trey came to see what I was doing just as I finished drizzling a little honey (Yes, I know you probably think that’s gross – but I like it! ;) ) on top, and was about to pour the milk. Since the gallon was almost empty, I asked, “Do you want to pour?” Trey was very excited about this and carefully started pouring the milk. I told him to just go ahead and pour all of it in. He did, then smiled and said (so sweetly and cheerfully that it really was sad) “It looks like there’s none left for me.” I quickly explained to the sweet little guy that I had made the snack for both of us to share! He smiled again and said, “Oh! Thanks Mom!”
After hesitating for a second he added, But Mommy, I didn’t want soap in mine. :) Apparently he was referring to the honey that I had squirted on the top – looked a little too much like soap. :)
Haha! That’s funny, and so sweet! He’s such a thoughtful little guy… would never assume that he could have your cereal!
How precious!
