Here are some pictures from our most recent Family Day. After going over all of our options of “fun” things to do (amusement parks, fun worlds, etc.) we quickly realized that with five people, they were also quite expensive things to do! With a little planning and some help from google, ;) we came up with an almost free day, and had probably more fun than we would have had we gone with one of the first choices! The only thing we paid for was the peddle boat rental…which only cost $6 for all four of us.
To start, we got online and found a scavenger hunt list, then personalized it with the kids’ names and their favorite colors and printed it off. We also changed a couple of things to make it more age appropriate for a three and four year old…such as changing specific types of leaves to a simpler, “Five different kinds of leaves”. ;)
We put each of the lists in a backpack, made a stack of sandwiches for a picnic, and filled up everyone’s water bottles. On our way we stopped by Target and picked up a small prize for the winner of our scavenger hunt (being careful to get one that could be shared if chosen by the winner ;) ) Special thanks to Mrs. Heather for the idea – we found the balloon rockets! ;)
What a fun day it was! Peaceful and relaxing…both things we needed. ;)
While Mommy was busy gathering things from the van, Daddy and the kids went to scout out a good place to eat…
…Found them! :)
My Boys ♥
The perfect picnic spot – right out in the open…it was just more fun to go though the woods to look for it. ;)
Chow time :)
A baby with peanut butter and a Daddy with a black shirt. ;) Yay for wipes! ;)
A pretty bird…does anyone know what it is? Our best guess was a red winged black bird…?
Mommy and Addison coaxed him toward us with some bread from Mommy’s sandwich ;)
Then Trey decided to pet him ;) and off he went! Here’s one of Mommy and her girl
And Brogan. :) This doesn’t even look like him, but it makes us laugh, so we couldn’t delete it. :)
Fun on the peddle boats! We took turns since Brogan was too little. We let the boys test things out first…you know, make sure it was safe for the girls. ;)
While we were waiting, we decided to take a walk across the bridge to the little playground :)
And big boy Brogan as he usually does – wanted to walk all by himself. ;)
Fun on the swings :)
And Addison being her usual daring little self. ;)
Here come the boys!
Watching the geese
This poor funny looking fella made us laugh. :) Hope he didn’t mind. :)
Someone is very happy that it’s the girls’ turn! :)
Addison wasn’t especially interested in going places, instead she wanted to sit on the back of the boat…dip her feet in the water…feed the geese… :) Such a girl…not the least bit in a hurry :) We had fun. :)
The boys taking a turn at the playground
Go Trey, go! :)
Almost there…
And he made it! :)
Gearing up for our Scavenger Hunt! :)
Reflecting… :)
Checking his list
I think maybe Brogan would like to get down? ;)
Daddy helping Trey put his finds into his back pack. :)
The trail…so pretty, but glad Daddy decided that we shouldn’t take the stroller! ;)
We originally planned to walk the entire trail around the lake, but when we stopped here the kids were having so much fun, that we decided to just let them play as long as they wanted and not worry about making goals and keeping plans. ;) It was much more fun that way.
Addison finding little treasures. :) Reminds me of her Mamaw. ;)

Brogan ♥
Little fishies :)
Some of God’s beautiful creation.
Haha :) I wonder what he was thinking…
Trey and Addison tied, because Trey shared his finds with Addy…such as this feather. ♥
Here are a few of our favorite shots of the day in black and white…I can never resist. ;)
We are so thankful to God for His blessings…and especially the blessing of family. ♥

There are so many good shots! I love the one with Trey’s arm around Addy after giving the feather to her. There are good shots of everyone! Thank you for sharing your day! I love you! Mom
Elisabeth,
Thanks so much for sharing your family and kids with us! It always makes me smile when I read the posts and see the pics. Makes me miss being with my family a little, too. Praying for you all! God bless you!
