It’s Been A While…

Wow, time flies! I just noticed that my blog hasn’t been updated in quite a while. Things have been as busy as ever around here with three little ones, the new job, church activities, and all of those in-between things.

I am very excited about starting K4 with Trey on the 7th! He already loves to learn, and since we have done some of the curriculum ahead of time, I don’t think it will be too much of a major adjustment for him.

I’m also really looking forward to watching Addison pick up on some of what her big brother is learning. She asks almost every day if she can “do school.” ; ) Usually, as I’m putting her to bed each night, I’ll say, “Tomorrow will be a fun day. What do you want to do tomorrow?” And every single time, she answers, “Ummmm…school!” : ) I always laugh, even though I’ve heard it over and over. And I’m not sure why she needs the long drawn out “ummm” each time either – I guess just to be Addison – and I love her! ♥

Oh – before I forget, Addison has learned to “make” her “name”! Well, really, it’s just the letter A, but I am so proud of her. : )

She recently practiced this new accomplishment all over Mommy’s chair in the living-room! :-/ Oops. So thankful for washable markers!

She also drew her very first picture of something recognizable this week! (besides her trademark circles)

Trey has been learning to be SUCH a good helper. I often hear him explaining things to Addison for me. I’ve also over-heard, on several occasions, Addison asking Trey for advice, or even if she’s allowed to do something. : ) She’ll say, “Twey, can I _____? Twey, why does this_____? Twey, can you help me _____?” I love watching their relationship grow.

Trey also wants to come to Addison’s rescue if she is being disciplined for doing wrong. He will invariably have some logical explanation for the way she has acted…”Uhhh, Mommy, I think her maybe doesn’t feel good.” or, “Maybe her was tired.” Love that little guy!

And Brogan. Brogan is just one sweet happy baby! He sometimes smiles so long and so hard, that I’m almost afraid it must hurt! He loves to “talk”, with his favorite word being “goooooo”. I thought that was just a made-up thing – you know the goo-goo, ga-ga, but nope – he does the “goo” all the time! He has brought so much joy to all of us.

Wes is loving his new job! I am loving the hours! It’s so nice to have Daddy home in the evenings. The kids look forward to their special time with him each day. Sometimes, if we’re out running errands, Trey will remind me, “We need to go back home now, so we can see Daddy!”

Ahhh, I’ll have to catch up on the funny things they’ve been busy saying lately, very soon! And that will take lots of catching up on. ; ) ‘Hope everyone is having a blessed end-of-their-Summer. : )

And…a thought that has been very prevalent on my mind as of late:

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 (emphasis added)

Let’s all remember to be busy about our Father’s work. I sincerely believe that our time here is short.

  1. Thank you so much for the photos! It’s so nice to see them.

It’s really encouraging to hear about the things that the kids are doing- I am so excited about the way they are being raised, and the things that God is going to do through them.

    And… that’s an extremely convicting ending. :-\ Um… thanks.
