Trey has been very interested in baseball lately, and a few weeks ago, started asking, “Mommy, do you sink maybe Daddy would buy Twey a baseball?” We’ve been learning that things are much more appreciated (and played with) if they’re wanted for a little while before they’re gotten. ;) So, we talked to him about “saving his dollars”, and finally (special thanks to Pop-Pop ;) ) had enough dollars saved for his very special, and very longed for, baseball!
Saturday morning, I woke Trey up by telling him that this was the day we got to go pick out his ball. He was excited, and hurried through his morning routine a little more eagerly than usual so we could leave. I had just gone in the bathroom to finish getting ready before we headed out the door, when I heard Trey coming. Probably to ask if we were leaving again, I thought! ;)
When I saw his face though, he seemed to be very deep in thought. Then he said in his famous “I’m thinking” tone, “Mommy…I sink I don’t want to buy a baseball.” I was puzzled and very surprised, so I asked, “What?” He tilted his serious little face and explained, “Yeah, I sink I would weally yike to buy a Boss instead.” Okay, maybe some of you are a little quicker here than me, but I had absolutely no clue what he was talking about! I had to have him repeat himself over and over, poor little guy, and finally we got it out – he really didn’t want to buy a baseball, just a Boss…a Mustang Boss.
Wow. Mommy is very ashamed to say, she had no clue such a thing even existed, but Trey did. :) I was still surprised about the baseball, but reluctantly told him that we could go to a different store – if that was really what he wanted to do with his money, and look for a little Mustang Boss! Do they make those in the hotwheels line? :) Trey looked up with one of those looks that says “*sigh* you still don’t understand!” and said, “Well, I’m not weally talkin’ about a yittle one, I’m just talkin’ about a BIG one!”
Aaand, after a long talk about dollars and how many, many dollars a BIG Mustang Boss would cost, we settled for the original plan, and bought a baseball. :)
haha he’s so funny!
AWW! Poor guy!! He is so sweet!
Haha! Poor Trey! :) If I had money (that much money ;) ) I would buy him his “Boss” :)
This is too good! Haha! He’s starting young….
Don’t ever let him think that he’s getting a graduation gift. ;)
Oh, how cute!!!!
Amazing.
:) He’s going to be doing some serious saving. ;)
