It was about six-thirty this evening, when we got home from visiting Uncle Zach, Aunt Megan and baby Allison at the hospital! We are so happy that she’s finally here! Well, The kid’s were both in the kitchen “helping” me with supper ( ;) ) while Daddy got some work done, when something memorable happened that I had to share.
I had the dishes from supper prep sitting in a sink full of sudsy water, until I could get to them. While I was busy at the stove, Trey (who I have to keep reminding myself is only two) went to the dining room and scooted a chair from the table into the kitchen, and up to the sink.
I heard him say, “I want get Daddy some wah-er, Mommy.” When I turned around to look, I saw that he had gotten the glass I had been using, and filled it with the warm, soapy water from the sink…complete with little food particles from the cream-of-chicken-soup pan. :)
I smiled and told him how sweet it was of him to think of Daddy. Then I sent a coded warning to Daddy in the next room telling him that Trey was bringing him “some very special water, that he got all by himself, just especially for Daddy”. :) Daddy was very thankful for the water, and handled it graciously – “sipping” without swallowing, while he made a big fuss over Trey’s thoughtful gesture. ;)
What a little sweetheart. You know, it’s moments like these that make you just feel blessed. Children truly are blessings from the Lord. We are enjoying watching both Trey and Addison as they grow into the little people God has planned for them to be.
Wow- what a big sweetheart, too! Sipping? I don’t know if I could’ve handled that! Those are two really great guys.
