Tire Swing

I have been wishing for a tire swing…like the one I had growing up, for quite some time now. I can remember taking a book out and hopping on that swing on quiet Summer days…spinning until I got sick…the indescribable thrill of that tickle in my tummy from going so high it secretly scared me… ahhhhhh… Well guess what my sweet hubby did this week?

I am a happy girl!

Here are a few pictures taken the day after our tire swing was finished, while we waited for supper to finish on the grill.

Trey isn’t quite sure about being so high off the ground, so when the swing starts moving too fast for comfort, he kindly offers to push his sister ;) who has absolutely no fear whatsoever! She wants to go as high as we can push!

If you haven’t tried a tire swing like this before, you must. ;) It’s wonderful…and yes, I am most definitely speaking from experience HA!! I will take full advantage of any willing pushers – volunteers anyone?? :D

And here are a couple of shots of the kids…our precious gifts from God. ♥

What would I do without them? ♥

Oh – and step-by-step how-to instructional for the tire swing, coming soon, for anyone who might be interested in creating one of these for their own back yard! It just takes an evening! Feel free to come try ours out first! ;) It’s F U N.

  7. MacKenzie loved that swing yesterday. Thankfully it started to rain, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get her off :)
I promise to try it out After I have the baby. I love to swing, but with this big belly it didn’t sound too fun.
And why are our boys afraid to swing high?? I thought that boys were supposed to be the fearless ones not the girls.

  9. Wow, that looks like tons of fun, and brings back a lot of memories…can’t wait to try it out next time we’re up! And if you do post instructions, I may put one up here for when young friends visit! Not for myself, of course…. ;)
